In 1912, Francis Newton Turner and Howard Meakin SR. joined to begin a business with the sale of houses and investment properties, property management, mortgage lending and valuation of real estate. Formally incorporated in 1935, Turner Meakin has been consistently providing professional property management services to clients throughout the Lower Mainland. During the 1940s, Mr. Turner retired and the Meakin family became the sole owners of the business.

The next 40 years saw Turner Meakin operate as a key force in the real estate industry in the Vancouver area. In 1981, Brian Meakin, the grandson of founder Howard Meakin, joined the company to maintain and develop the expanding management portion of the business.

In 1990, Turner Meakin strengthened focus on the company’s brokerage and management divisions, while the insurance division of the business was sold. Turner Meakin & Co. Ltd. (brokerage division only) merged operations with another firm in 1997. This merger allowed Turner Meakin Management Co. Ltd. to continue the fine family tradition of service excellence in the hands of Brian Meakin, the third generation of the Meakin family to own and operate the business.
